We’re hiring! An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Accountant to join our friendly team. 



The successful candidate will be responsible for completing personal Self Assessment Tax Returns, liaising with our lovely self employed clients and providing an accurate invoicing and payroll service for clients’ businesses.

 

Working in close partnership with our Accountants and Advisors, the Operations Accountant will also assist with recording transactions on behalf of sole traders and limited companies, reviewing accountancy work completed internally and researching personal tax queries in order to provide accurate advice and guidance. 

 

In this role you will:

 

·        Process and record accurately the transactions of sole trader businesses and prepare accounts.

 

·        Complete personal Self Assessment Tax Returns

 

·        Provide efficient, compliant and accurate invoicing and payroll services for clients using bespoke software.

 

·        Assist with completing and checking calculations and returns for PAYE/NI and VAT.

 

·        Assist with the reconciliation of Limited Company bank accounts.

 

·        Prepare financial statements using appropriate accounting software.

 

·        Work with a dedicated Client Advisor to ensure that Sole Trader and Payroll clients are provided with the best possible advice and service.

 

·        Liaise effectively with clients, colleagues and third parties in order to resolve specific payroll, taxation and accounts queries.

 

 

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

 

·         AAT L3 Qualified or above (or QBE).

·         Experience of working in an Accountancy Practice

·         Experience of completing Self Assessment Tax Returns

·         Experience or knowledge of running small payrolls

·         Experience or knowledge of CIS and contractor services (desirable)

·         Experience of Personal Service Company accounts (desirable)

·         Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·         Strong organisational and time-management skills with proven ability to manage your own workload.

·         Enjoys working as part of a small close-knit team

This role would suit someone who has previous experience within an Accountancy Practice, has completed some or all of their AAT qualification (or equivalent) and is looking for the next step in their Accountancy career.
