HMRC reports another "slightly" successful year
HMRC brought in a record-breaking amount of tax revenue in 2018/19, up 3.6% on the previous year to £627.9bn The total includes £34.1bn which, according to the latest set of accounts, could have been lost if it hadn’t been for HMRC’s efforts to clamp down on avoidance evasion and non-compliance. Just under £3bn of this amount came from tackling offshore initiatives. At least we know we can afford an extra £2bn for preparation, if a no deal scenario
