REC Survey Shows Increase In Jobs In January

08 - 02 - 2012

A survey carried out by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) shows a rise in permanent staff replacements from 48.5 to 51.2, with demand highest for construction and engineering staff in both temporary and permanent vacancies.

The Chief Executive of the REC, Kevin Green, said that there was growth in demand for six out of the eight sectors surveyed, including engineering, IT and office professionals.

This is the first permanent rise that the REC has seen in four months. Rates of pay for both temporary and permanent staff increased marginally, although billings for temporary and contract staff did decline slightly.

The REC and KPMG's Report on Jobs surveyed 400 REC member recruitment consultancies. For more details - click here
