National Insurance Number Cards Replaced With A Letter

03 - 01 - 2012

HMRC has now stopped sending plastic National Insurance number cards.

All adults and people approaching age 16 will now receive their National Insurance number on a notification letter. The letters are being sent from the Department for Work and Pensions. The change is part of the Government’s Spending Challenge and should save approximately £1 million per annum.
