NWM - New Rates
01 - 10 - 2010
National Minimum Wage rates have increased from 1st October 2010. There have also been some minor changes to the ages at which different rates apply. The revised rules have also created a special classification for apprentices.
The new rates are as follows:
Workers aged 21 and over | £5.93 per hour |
Workers over 17 and under 21 | £4.92 per hour |
Workers over 16 and under 17 | £3.64 per hour |
Apprentices under 19 (or in the first year) | £2.50 per hour |
The National Minimum wage does not apply to:
Directors remuneration
The genuinely self-employed
Voluntary Workers
